IntroductionSophanem is one of the southern-most civilizations of RuneScape; located in the Kharidian desert. There is not much to do in this city as of yet except for a few quests, and a part of a mini-quest. Sophanem is only accessible after you have started the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.

- Carpenter: Buys un-noted Willow logs from you for 40 each.
- Embalmer: Buys Buckets of sap from you for 30gp each and Bags of salt from you for 20gp each.
- Guardian Mummy: Talk to him to start the Pyramid Plunder Mini-Game.
- High Priest: A NPC in Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.
- Icthlarin: A NPC in the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.
- Jex: Speak to during the Contact! quest.
- Klenter the Ghost: A NPC in Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.
- Linen Worker: Owner of the Cloth store. He becomes Raetul after Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.
- Neferti the Camel: A camel who wants to see the world.
- Neite: The female cat of the A Tail Of Two Cats quest (Need the Catspeak amulet to talk to her).
- Plagued Cows: Poor sick cows.
- Priest: Lets you enter and leave Sophanem after the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.
- Priests: Tell you about Icthlarin.
- Rug Merchant: He will give you a ride to South Pollnivneach for 200gp.
- Siamun: A NPC in the Rogue Trader mini-game.
- Slaves: Will resent you and say how you have put them back to work since the completion of the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.
- Sphinx: A NPC in Icthlarin's Little Helper quest, it gives you a Catspeak amulet after you have completed Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.
- Tarik: He is interested in the treasures inside Pyramid Plunder and works for Simon Templeton.
- Wanderer: Starts you on the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest.

Special Attractions
The Great Pyramid
In the middle of Sophanem is a big pyramid, which you have to make your way through during the Icthlarin's Little Helper quest. Upon completion of the quest, you can easily access this dungeon, to train on Mummies (level-94/103), and Scarabs (level-98). Warning: this dungeon is packed to the brim with agility traps and obstacles that you must overcome during, and after the quest. Be careful when passing through. Bank
After completion of the Contact! quest, one can access a bank in Sophanem. The bank is located in the temple in the north-east corner of the city in a chamber under the temple.
