Years ago, a small tribe of people split off from the Fremennik in Rellekka and decided to inhabit the mountains to the east of town. There they lived as nomads for many years, but now the chieftain of the camp has lost his daughter and will not move on before she has been found. Has she run away, has she been eaten by trolls, or is there something more sinister going on? Only you can find out.
Part 1:
Chieftain and the Daughter
Step 1
Talk to Chieftain.
Pick up and pole and some mud.
Speak to Ragnar.
Then report back to the Hamal.
To start the quest, head east of Rellekka, until you reach the "Swaying Tree". Then go North-East, and you should reach two paths. Try climbing over the rocks of the path where the guard is, and he will stop you. Go to the north path now, and you'll see a rock with a push option. Pushing doesn't work, so go to the south of it, and use your rope on it (Picture).
Now follow the path until you reach the mountain camp. Once there speak to the Chieftain of the Nomadic Mountain Tribe, who goes by the name Hamal (Picture). Ask him why they left Rellekka and he will tell you about his missing daughter. He will tell you where you should begin to look, by a large pool of water, where you might also find her fiancé, Ragnar. Before leaving the village, go south of the Chieftains' tent and dig for mud. Now go to the Jokul's farm, and pick up a pole in his yard.
Follow the north path until you reach Ragnar. Speak to him, and he will tell you Hamal's daughter's name is Asleif. He says he has heard her voice coming from the lake. So, use your mud on the tall tree, which is just east of Ragnar, to make it less slippery. Climb the tree (Picture), and then use your pole on the clump of rocks (Picture). Next use your plank on the flat stone to go across.
Once you're at the last island, listen to the shining water, and you'll hear Asleif's voice. Continue talking to her, and Asleif will explain that she is dead and you must do some favors for her. First you must make "peace" with the Rellekka people. Then you must find them a food source. Go back and talk to the chieftain about these problems.
Go back and talk to Hamal about these problems. After that go talk to Jokul, the goat farmer next door. He talks about the "white pearl," a mountain fruit.
The white pearl fruit can be found at the white wolf mountain, gnome glider. Make peace with Rellekka before going to get this.
Part 2:
Making "peace" with Rellekka
Step 2
Talk to to Svidi.
Talk to Brundt, and return back to Hamal.
Proceed back to Brundt with the rock.
Pick a fruit, get the seeds and take them to Svidi,
Head west, out of the camp, and you will come across Svidi and some black unicorns. Speak to Svidi, and he will say that he's too scared to go into Rellekka, and doesn't want to go back to Hamal empty handed. Ask if you can persuade him to go there somehow. You'll tell him that you could be his bodyguard, and he says that's not good enough, so you have to now go and get him a guarantee of safe passage.
Enter Rellekka and talk to Brundt, in the long hall. Brundt says he wants his rock that the other tribe took back. Go back to Hamal and ask him if you can have the rock. Hamal will refuse to give you the rock, so go to the southern hut, and use your pickaxe with the Ancient Rock (Picture). Leave the camp, and head west, back to Brundt. Brundt will be satisfied with sharing the rock, so he'll give you the safety guarantee to take back to Svidi.
Now you must get another source of food for the tribe. Talk to Jokul who is the goat keeper first, then go to White Wolf Mountain and make sure you have your gloves with you. Go up to the gnome glider and you will see a thorny bush. Pick a fruit from this bush and eat it to get the seeds. Take the seed back to Hamal, and that part is complete. Tell him that you persuaded Brundt to talk to Svidi.
Part 3:
The Final Task
Step 3
Go back and talk to Asleif.
Talk to "The Kendal" and kill him.
Go back to Hamal, and bury the corpse by Asleif'.
Go north from the mountain camp, back to Ragnar. Climb the tall tree, and then use your pole on the clump of rocks. Use your plank on the flat stones, and then listen to the shining pool. Tell Asleif that you have found a new food supply, and made peace with the people of Rellekka (Picture). She says she's already sensed this, and thanks you. Next, you have to convince her father that she is dead.
Climb on the flat stones without using the plank, and you will be taken to the northern side of the river (or you could just run around there). At the end of the path, you will find some dead trees. You need to chop these to get into the cave (Picture). Note that you can only chop down the smaller trees.
Enter the Cave, and head south. You'll soon come across a bear-like creature, called "The Kendal". Talk to him, and ask him about a sacrifice. He'll tell you that he's the god of the mountains. Continue talking to him, and say "You look like a man in a bear suit!" After a while, he'll tell you that about 10 years ago, he killed a lady who came there, he felt sorry for killing her, but left her corpse, as she was too beautiful. You'll say that fits her description, and he says he cannot take the corpse back, or he'll be exposed. Now you get to kill Kendal (level-70).
Once you've killed the bear you'll receive a bear head, collect the corpse, head north, and exit the cave. Chop down the trees and return to the camp. Speak to Hamal, and he will ask you to bury the corpse. He says you must build a cairn out of rocks, and that you have to bury her with one of her possessions. Go grab about 5-7 rocks next door and head to Ragnar.
Speak to Ragnar, and he will give you Asleif's necklace. Climb the tree, pole vault over the clump of rocks, use your plank on the flat stones, and move towards the middle of the island.
Bury the corpse (Picture). Now there'll be a burial mound (Picture), which you use the rocks on to make the cairn (Picture).
