Varrockian literature tells of a valuable shield, stolen long ago from the museum of Varrock, by a gang of professional thieves. See if you can track down this shield and return it to the museum.

Note: You will need a friend to help you complete this quest.

Part 1:
Reldo's Quest

Step 1
Talk to Reldo, Varrock Library.

Zybez RuneScape Help's Screenshot of the Shield of Arrav Book Go to Varrock palace and find the library, located at the back of the castle. Inside the library, there should be a man named Reldo (Picture). Talk to him and ask for a quest. He'll tell you to find a book entitled The Shield of Arrav.

Instead of searching all the bookcases, find the one the option is Check instead of Search. Check the bookcase and you'll find The Shield of Arrav in there. Read it.

Now you must choose a gang. Make sure you choose the opposite gang to what your partner is in; only follow the step relating to your gang.

Part 2:
Choose a Gang

Phoenix Gang
Talk to Baraek, Varrock Square.
Talk to Straven, Phoenix hideout.
Search chest to find shield half.

To join the Phoenix Gang, talk to Reldo and you will ask him about where to find the Phoenix Gang. He will say that he doesn't know, but that Baraek the fur trader will know. He is located in Varrock Square - Go there and talk to Baraek about the Phoenix Gang. He will ask for 20 coins to tell you about it. Give them to him, and he will tell you where the Phoenix hideout is.

Find the hideout and climb down the ladder. Down there will be a man named Straven, and a door. Talk to Straven and ask to join the VTAM Corporation, and tell him that you know who he is. He will ask you to get a Varrock news report for him. Go to the Blue Moon inn, which is right at the south entrance of Varrock. In there, kill Jonny the Beard (Picture), and take the scroll he drops. Now go and talk to Straven again, and he will give you a key to the Phoenix hideout. Use the key to get inside and in there, search the chest to find the first shield half.

Black Arm Gang
Talk to tramp, Varrock.
Talk to Katrine.
Get key from partner, retrieve crossbows.
Search Black Arm hideout for shield half.

Talk to the tramp in south-western Varrock (Picture). Ask him if there is something down the alleyway, and he will tell you about the Black Arm Gang. Now go into the house, talk to Katrine and ask about joining the Black Arm Gang. Tell her that you're up for a challenge, and she will tell you about getting some weapons.

Now you need your friend in the Phoenix Gang. You need to get the key he has to get into the weapon storage room. When you have it, go east of the Phoenix hideout, and up a ladder. In there, kill the person attacking you, and take two crossbows.

Now return to Katrine, give her the crossbows, and go inside the other room and up the staircase. Up there will be a cupboard containing the other shield half.

Part 3:
Claiming the Reward

Step 2
Give shield halves to museum curator.
Give certificate to King Roald.

Now you need your friend again. Since the shield is not tradeable you both have to go to the curator in the museum and give him your shield half. He gives you each half a certificate and when your friend takes his/hers you each trade one half of the certificate and join them to make a full one.

Now go to the Varrock palace, and talk to King Roald (Picture). Give him the certificate from the curator and you and your friend will both receive a quest point and 600gp.
